TOBACCO LEGISLATION

The MATCH Coalition works with the General Assembly to pass tobacco prevention and control policies to protect the public health of Connecticut’s residents. The Coalition testifies at public hearings and meets with individual legislators to talk about our mission. Here is the legislation we are advocating for during the 2011 legislative session:

S.B. 415 - An Act Concerning State Oversight of Hookah Lounges

This legislation will prohibit the establishment of any new hookah lounges after July 1, 2011. The Department of Public Health will be given oversight authority over hookah lounges currently in existence.

S.B. 884 - An Act Prohibiting Smoking in Private Clubs

S.B. 948 - An Act Concerning Smoking in Workplaces

H.B. 6550 - An Act Concerning Medicaid Coverage for Smoking Cessation Treatment
